It is a legal requirement to have Employers’ Liability insurance as an employer and your policy must cover you for at least £5 million and come from an authorised insurer.
Most household insurance policies include the required cover, but each employer should check with their insurance company that this is in place. If you do not have household insurance then it is vital you take out separate Employers’ Liability insurance cover.
